Food Pantry FAQ's

What are the food pantry hours and location?
The Bay Chapel Food Pantry is open only on Saturdays from 9:30 am - 11:30 am. We are currently located in front of the Tampa Bay Presbyterian Church at 19911 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33647.

What documentation do you require from those requesting food?
None. We do not require documentation for those in need of food. Just arrive during our hours of operation (Saturdays, 9:30 am - 11:30 am), and you will receive food. We supply one bag of groceries per family.

Do you deliver food?
Unfortunately, we do not deliver food at this time. However, we are aware of organizations that have food delivery services and would be happy to share those organizations with you. Email us at info@baychapel.com.

I have food I'd like to donate. What do you all accept and how can I drop them off?
Thank you for your willingness to donate to our food pantry. You may drop any food donations to the food pantry during the operating hours on Saturdays from 9:30 am - 11:30 am.

Accepted Foods: All non perishable items, canned goods and dry goods that are not expired.
Foods not accepted include fresh produce, meats, refrigerated items or any expired foods.

I'd like to volunteer at the Bay Chapel food pantry. What should I do?
Thank you for your heart to help us serve our community. We do currently have volunteer opportunities on Saturday mornings. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:30 am for setup. The pantry is located in front of the Tampa Bay Presbyterian Church at 19911 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33647. The Food Pantry will open to the public at 9:30 am. Upon arrival, please check in with a pantry team member (wearing a green t-shirt) and let them know it's your first time volunteering. You will be given volunteer assignments from there.

I need documentation for my volunteer hours. What should I do?
Our pantry volunteer coordinator will be available to assist with signing school forms to confirm your volunteer hours. For anyone requesting documentation on formal letterhead, you will still need to manually track your hours and have them signed by the volunteer coordinator. Once you have collected accurate documentation, you may email a request for formal letterhead documentation to info@baychapel.com. Please note that this process may take up to 5 business days to complete.

Can my child volunteer at the food pantry?
We welcome volunteers both young and seasoned. For any children under the age of 14, we ask that a parent/guardian accompany them for the entire time they volunteer.

Our group/organization would like to volunteer one weekend together, can we do that?
We welcome groups/organizations that would like to volunteer. We do ask that your group/organization highly consider volunteering during the summer season (June - August), as we have larger quantities of volunteers during the remainder of the year.
